About Mountain Ventures LLC
Almanor Junction History
In November 2023, we acquired Skyline Plaza (Now Almanor Junction) at a real estate auction. The building’s shell was constructed between 2006 and 2008 but has never been occupied. Over the years, Skyline Plaza has changed hands at least three times. The structure boasts a total of 24,852 square feet, which can accommodate up to 14 tenants. Although there were initial attempts to establish a salon and a laundromat, these tenant improvements were not completed. During the significant snow season of 2022-2023, a portion of the roof collapsed due to a longstanding water leak. This leak led to decay in the top plate of the back wall, causing some of the trusses to fail and affecting two of the units. Back wall has been entirely replaced and new roof installed on the back 3/4s of the building.
Repair and restoration of Almanor Junction has been a significant investment, but the major structural work is now complete. We are excited to move into the next phase: supporting our tenants, developing The Fun Depot, and welcoming new businesses to the center.
What's Next for the Building
Completed Milestones
- Demolished the damaged section and removed all debris.
- Hired NST Engineering to prepare repair plans and obtain permits.
- Obtained the building permit from Plumas County.
- Hired Almanor Preferred Builders to complete the building repairs.
- Replaced the entire damaged back wall and roof structure.
- Installed new roofing on the rear three-quarters of the building, completed in August 2025.
- Re-stuccoed the back wall, completed August 29, 2025.
- Opened Lassen Laundromat on September 8, 2026.
What’s Ahead
- Develop the Family Entertainment Center, “The Fun Depot,” with plans for indoor mini golf, an arcade, Duckpin bowling, and more.

Lassen Laundromat opened September 8, 2026, at Almanor Junction, 690 Main Street—right as you enter Chester.
Our brand-new laundromat offers high-capacity washers and dryers, a modern payment system that accepts cards and mobile pay, and free high-speed internet to make your visit more enjoyable.
For added convenience, we also offer pay-per-use showers—especially helpful for PCT hikers, as well as locals, travelers, campers, and outdoor adventurers.
Stop by for a clean, reliable, modern laundry experience in the heart of the Lake Almanor Basin.
Our Dreams for the Future of Almanor Junction
At Almanor Junction, we envision a vibrant community hub that serves a diverse range of businesses and services. Our goal is to create a premier destination where local entrepreneurs can thrive and residents can enjoy a variety of amenities.
Lassen Laundromat opened on September 8, 2026, as our first tenant. We are now working toward realizing our dream of creating a Family Entertainment Center. Current plans for The Fun Depot include an indoor miniature golf course, an arcade, Duckpin bowling, and other exciting features. We are also considering a co-working space to support local freelancers and small businesses.
To ensure that local youth can enjoy the fun and enrichment offered at the Family Entertainment Center, we have partnered with The Almanor Foundation to launch The Conductors Club—a nonprofit initiative that provides scholarships and program access for children and teens who might not otherwise be able to participate. Funded by donations and supported by volunteers, The Conductors Club will offer dedicated hours and special activities exclusively for its members. Our hope is to foster a safe, inclusive, and joy-filled environment where all kids in the Lake Almanor Basin can play, learn, and build lasting memories.
In addition to commercial spaces, we are exploring opportunities to host community events and markets, strengthening the sense of community and providing a venue for local talent and businesses. Our dream is for Almanor Junction to become more than a place of business—it will be a cornerstone of the community where people come together, connect, and support one another. We are excited about the journey ahead and committed to making this vision a reality.
